Elementary

Reading Development and Enhancement
Whether your child is embarking on the journey of reading or has been immersed in it for years, we offer a program designed to fortify and advance their skills. Our Developmental Reading program (grades JK-2) lays a strong foundation for younger children, employing effective techniques such as phonemic awareness, phonics, and blending skills. Through targeted efforts, we enhance fluency and accuracy, fostering a love for reading and bolstering confidence in their daily school tasks.
As your child progresses, our Corrective Reading program (grades 3-7) builds upon these foundational skills. Shifting to a Reading to Learn approach, this stage places a greater emphasis on vocabulary expansion and comprehension work, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive reading experience.
Mathematics Skill Enhancement
The swift pace of the school mathematics curriculum often leaves students feeling frustrated and perplexed. Our programs adopt a methodical learning approach that prioritizes skill reinforcement and factual mastery. Students are assigned to modules that align with their current abilities, allowing them to navigate skills-building lessons with assurance and precision. Corrective Mathematics Modules cover Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. Each program employs a structured methodology, incorporating multiple learning strategies to ensure students not only read but also comprehend and retain the content they are taught.
Subject-based Mathematics & Language Arts
While some students possess a solid understanding of overarching concepts, additional support may be necessary to adequately prepare them for the expectations of grades 8 and 9. Subject-based tutoring caters to these students, offering help with homework and remedial skills development in specific areas. To excel in advanced mathematics, many students benefit from in-depth instruction in algebra, integers, order of operations, as well as fractions, decimals, and percents.
Secondary

Grade 9
Navigating the move to high school can pose significant challenges for students. The sudden increase in responsibilities and workload can be overwhelming. Our team is here to assist your high school student by reinforcing essential skills and facilitating a solid grasp of new material. Additionally, the EQAO testing, akin to an exam, frequently contributes to their final mark during this crucial year. Reach out to us for support in various subjects, including math, science, English, geography, and more.

In the later stages of high school, students explore new subjects to discern their interests for post-secondary studies. This frequently involves undertaking challenging courses to enhance readiness for upcoming academic endeavors. These years play a pivotal role in college and university admissions, where a slight increase in percentage points can be the deciding factor for acceptance into preferred courses of study. Support is offered for subjects such as Functions, Calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, English, and more.

Summer Fun!!
Tailored for children of all ages, our well-received summer school program extends into the summer months. Participants join in a collaborative learning environment where they master reading with confidence through our highly effective approaches (i.e. phonetic; vocabulary development, comprehension, etc.). This experience not only ensures success but also cultivates skills that provide a distinct advantage when starting the next grade level. The transformative benefits reported by our students are remarkable. Parents have noted improved academic performance, heightened self-esteem, and increased enthusiasm for both reading and learning. The Learning Loft is also offered on an individual basis for personalized attention.
Study Skills + Writing
Students cultivate organizational, time management, and various essential study skills through this program. The intermediate edition aids in the seamless transition to grade nine (i.e. study tips & tricks for taking tests, eqao, OSSLT - Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, etc.), while the senior version imparts more intricate skills essential for success at the college and/or university level such as writing an essay, test taking, etc.
Students from grade 8 to 12 enhance their written communication skills. In the intermediate program, the emphasis is on paragraph and essay writing, grammar, and spelling. Senior students concentrate on crafting longer, formal essays, developing bibliographies, conducting research, and recognizing an author's style and craft.
